Krabi is a province on the Andaman coast consisting of 4,708 square kilometers. Krabi’s topography comprises mountains, highlands, plains, and over 130 islands. There are also lush mangrove forests. A 5-kilometer river flows through Krabi town into the Andaman Sea at Pak Nam sub-distirct. Apart from that, Krabi also has Pakasai, Krabi Yai, and Krabi Noi canals. It is believed that Krabi was one of the earliest settlements in Thailand since pre-historic times. Krabi became a province towards the end of the reign of Rama V.
The weather in Krabi is influenced by tropical monsoons, namely the southwestern and northeastern monsoons. There are two seasons: summer, during January till April and rainy season, during May till December.
